Company (France) announce with great regret that due to unforeseen and insurmountable circumstances the Georges Momboye Dance Company is unable to arrive in Latvia. The BOYAKODAH performances scheduled for today, 19.04.2010 at 19:00 at the Latvian National Opera, and 21 April at the Jūras Vārti Ventspils Theatre Hall, are rescheduled for October 2010.

This year’ s International Baltic Ballet Festival is held between 16 and 29 April; the compact yet challengingly dynamic programme offers two weeks worth of contemporary dance events, commencing traditionally with an opening concert at Riga Central Railway Station at 5 pm on 16 April 2010.

„For this year’s festival, we chose and invited dance companies capable of „shaking up” the spectators emotionally, encouraging and inspiring everyone to believe in themselves while [coping] with their everyday [problems]. The Georges Momboye Dance Company from France and Rasta Thomas’ dance group (USA) have performed on countless stages worldwide. Performances of both dance ensembles are going to become a revelation for the Latvian audiences: choreography as dynamic and energetically charged as theirs has never been seen in this country,” says Festival Director Lita Beiris.
